Privacy Policy

At Sehat+ (the clinical-nutrition practice of Ambika Nair — Clinical Nutritionist, RD, CDE, M.Sc), your trust matters as much as your health. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and the rights you have over it. It reflects our obligations under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”).

What We Collect

We only ask for what we need to care for you and run the practice:

• Contact & identity: name, phone number, email, city, and (where relevant) postal address.
• Health information: your health concern, age or date of birth, sex, height, weight, and any reports, medications or notes you choose to share. This is sensitive personal data and we treat it with extra care.
• Booking preferences: whether you’re a new or returning patient, and your preferred days and times.
• Payment & billing: if you pay online — your billing name, and GSTIN if you request a GST invoice. Your card, UPI or bank details are entered directly with our payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.
• Chat messages: anything you type into the “Ask Ambika Nair” assistant on this site.
• Website usage: basic cookies and analytics to keep the site working and understand what’s useful (see Cookies below).

Why We Collect It & Your Consent

We use your information solely to respond to your enquiry, schedule and deliver your consultation, personalise your nutrition guidance, send you confirmations and receipts, and improve our care. We collect it only with your consent — for example, the tick-box on our booking form — and we tell you the purpose before you share it. You can decline, though some services may not be possible without the relevant details. Because health details are sensitive, we ask for your explicit agreement before processing them.

Who Helps Us Process Your Data

We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it for advertising. To run the practice we rely on a small set of trusted, reputable service providers (“data processors”), each handling only the specific piece they need:

• Razorpay — securely processes online payments. Card/UPI/bank details go directly to Razorpay; we only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded.
• Resend — delivers our emails to you and to our clinic (confirmations, receipts, enquiry notifications).
• Anthropic (Claude) — powers the website chat assistant. Only the messages you type into the chat are sent to Anthropic to generate a reply. Anthropic does not use this data to train its models and does not retain it long-term.
• Cloudflare — hosts our images and stores booking enquiries in encrypted form.
• Vercel — hosts and serves this website.

These providers act on our instructions and are bound to protect your data. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, to comply with legal processes, or to protect the rights and safety of our patients and practice.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your information only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — to provide your care, meet medical, tax and legal record-keeping requirements, and support any follow-up you ask for. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to erase your data at any time (subject to any records we’re legally required to retain).

How We Protect It

We apply widely accepted security practices: access is limited to the clinic team, booking enquiries are stored encrypted, and payment details never touch our own systems. No method of transmission or storage is ever perfectly secure, but we take the safeguarding of your health information seriously and use reasonable measures to protect it.

Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data our website stores on your device to keep the site working and remember your preferences (such as light or dark mode). You can set your browser to decline cookies, though some features may then not work as intended. This policy does not cover cookies set by third-party services embedded on our site.

Your Rights

Under the DPDP Act, you have the right to:

• Know what personal data we hold about you and how it’s used.
• Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete information.
• Request erasure of your data (where we’re not legally required to keep it).
• Withdraw your consent at any time.
• Raise a grievance and have it addressed (see below).
